Default Simple 95 Rear End question

I have a 3.4L 95 and i wanna take a rear end from a Z/28 and make mine posi with disc brake conversion. My question what years rear end just goes right in mine. Does it have to be 93-98 or can i just use any years. Also any pics or guides with pics would be nice but any response is greatly appreciated.

Any 93-02 Z/28, SS, Trans Am, Firehawk will all be direct replacement. All you have to do is get the old one out and lift the new one in. Everything will bolt right up. The only thing you may need is the brake hoses for the calipers. You will probably need the computer tuned for the new rear gear ratio, other wise your speedo will be off.

agree^^^ it will have to come out of a 93-02 f body. add, if you have traction control you will need a traction control rearend, if you dont you will need a non traction control rearend. traction control has 4 sensors, one on each wheel, non traction control has 3 sensors for abs, two in front and one at the top of the center of the rearend.

Awesome that's what I figured, I just wanted confirmation. I was a little worried about the brakes since mine are drum but I figured it might just be different line fittings possibly, and caliper hoses. Cool thanks for the response on both my threads. Also when you say get the computer tuned, how do I go about that. Just take it to a shop and say tune it?

If he doesn't have traction control now, he can still put in a rearend that has traction control. It wouldn't be plugged into anything, so it would just be a non-traction control traction control rearend.

Most shops probably won't be able to do a '95 with it being an oddball year.

Best option for a tune is to send it here:

LT1 PCM Tuning - Welcome!

You're car would be down for a few days, but it beats getting pulled over for speeding!

When I did my swap from 2.73 to 3.42 rear end I just drove at a constant speed with a gps and figured out how off my speedo was, cheaper than a tune :P

Eh, ABS is overrated anyway. Unless the streets are slick and icy, I have no use for it.
Besides, it's against the (unwritten) law to be out with your Camaro in the snow and ice.
