That was my thoughts also, but if it was manual before he did something right as far as ripping everything pertaning to it being a manual out, so I feel like the vin decoder was wrong. Im calling a trans shop around me tomorrow to see if they can take a look at it for me

Could be a goof with the decoder. Get under the car and look up at the trans tunnel and see if there are any signs of it having had an opening for the shifter. No trace, no manual trans.
