I have a 98 SS, I believe it has a 3:42 rear end.
I want to change to a 4:10 or 4:11 rear end.

What do I need to look for.....what is the ring gear size and I think I read something about thinner or thicker ring gears??

I just want to make sure I buy the right thing.

becaredul putting that much gear in a 10 bolt rear, especially being that you have a 6 speed. The 10 bolt isn't exactly the strongest rear end out there (with a 7.5" ring gear) with that much gear in it and a couple hard launches, you could very easily blow that thing apart, but it will be fun while it lasts!!
