Default 95 3.4 slow reverse issue

Hey guys, I've got a 1995 Chevy Camaro with the 3.4, 4L60E trans. When I bought it back in 2009 with 125k miles, I noticed that it always took about 2 seconds to engage in reverse. Not really a big deal for me but was always an annoyance when in parking lots moving from drive to reverse and then waiting. 4 years and 60k miles later it still does the same thing, and I've always wondered what might be the cause. Here's some of the things Ive noticed.
When shifting from Park to Reverse, the shift is quick.
When shifting from Neutral to reverse, the shift is slow (2 second delay).
When shifting from any forward gear, the shift is even slower (3 seconds).

I've never had problems with the reverse gear slipping or anything like that, it just has a slow engagement. I even tried Lucas trans fix and have had zero results. What do you guys think?

*EDIT*

I would also like to add that if I go into the Transmission output controls with a Tech2 scan tool and tell the pressure solenoid to go at full pressure, the delay is still there but it's drastically reduced. Almost like, at full pressure every other gear change is instant and extremely firm compared to normal, but when shifted into reverse, it would feel normal compared to delayed.

how hard is that to install?
is that basically the same as this?

Because I noticed the same thing, and came across this shift improver kit and was wondering if it was worth buying. If it can help improve the life of the transmission by not causing damage and starting to slip over time, plus have a better reaction time, I would get this very soon.
Im taking preventive measures with my car. I want to get something to protect the transmission, Im getting an oil cooler and engine restorer to keep the engine good. Ii might get an auto trans cooler as well. But I am curious for a shift improving kit.

Who told you engine restore is a preventive measure? Just put in good oil, If your motor is a little loose then put in a higher weight; If 20w50 is not enough it is time to fix it. The only way I would put engine restore or a product like that would be if I was running it through the auction tomorrow.

I trust my uncle. He is a very knowledgeable person when it comes to an engine. The restorer just helps to smooth the surface of the cylinder walls and restore compression. And 15-30 should be fine for the camaro. I use 20-50 if it has a small leak. I might have to go down to 10-40 though with the oil cooler.

Its not some knock off crap either like the stupid stop leak fixes. Ill never use the "magic fluid" that makes your car gain 10hp and be like new out of the 5 kinds of bottles in your face.
Its almost like a lucas additive. Trust worthy, and a good thing to use that wont harm anything in the process.

Its crap, That is coming from a GM/ASE Master Tech turned Manufacturing engineer. The most importaint thing your oil does is form a liquid bearing for your mains and rods. That should be you only factor you think of when you pick an oil. Things like "Help the rings to seal" "oil cooler or not" or "an oil leak" are not factors in picking what oil you should use. The only factor should be what is my oil pressue and how many hours/miles do I have on the car.

To date I have heard of NO additive of any type that is better than a good synthetic oil. If you talk to the engineer at the oil manufacture they will not suggest an additive because they have no idea how the different chemical will react. They even teach us in school that it is a good idea to stay with one oil type for the life of a car so you don't have to worry about the clean agent is one oil reacting with the cleaning agent on another.

When I check out a car for someone to buy I take a white paper towel, I pull the dip stick across the paper towel, the STP/Engine restore will sit in vert small gel pockets. I will then suggest the customer not by the car.

Like I said the additive will help mask problem that should be fixed but it will not make your car last longer.

Thanks Craby. I will look into that shift improver kit. I've rebuilt one of these transmissions back in college, so doing some valve body updates shouldn't be a problem. I will let you know what happens.

Thank you.
