Default 94 Z auto transmission on the way out

So my 94 Z28 had a new engine install in March 2011 and the automatic transmission has about 192,000 miles on it. It's been acting up the last month or so, not responding well in Drive going at the slightest incline. I've been able to work around that using Overdrive and getting normal response, until yesterday. It does go but it vibrates and struggles.
My question is, is it better to rebuild the transmission or buy a rebuilt one??

Getting a new torque converter is a given also, considering the miles.
No doubt the lockup clutch got toasted anyway, from being forced to handle the brunt of the torque.

Crabby,

Are you saying not to go with the tranny from PATC?

Just looking for clarification.

no patc does not have you send in a core so you dont send your trans in. performance trans you do have to send your trans in. giving him some choices. he may be looking at a local shop. should give him some pricing ideas and parts too. patc site has allot of info in it. lol i guess i should have used more words.
