Rear shocks

when doing the rear shocks which way does the threaded part of the bolt face on the lower mount towards the engine or toward the back of the car

How hard is it to change the struts and shocks on a 97 camaro...She definately could use a lift ?

Rears? Easy Fronts? Not so easy. If the car has been exposed to a wet and cold climate the upper mounts on the front are likely to look like this.


If you're handy it's probably something you can handle. It might be a good idea to have a mechanic disassemble the front shock assemblies if you don't want to mess with a spring compressor.
