1994 camaro v6 strut
I have a strut on frnt driver side that top of strut came out of mount and is to the side.Is there a easy trick fix on this? or do I have to take whole assymble apart.Ofcourse im assuming it is a strut not shock.

so I prob need a spring compresser.Are there any special tools needed.?
I also noticed these front shocks dont bolt through into eng compart like most cars.looks like you have to take off a plate or something..

Two nuts and two torx head bolts hold it in, if it's original. If it's been replaced once already, two of them will be hex head bolts. You'll need a T50 or T55 bit, I can't remember which size it is off the top of my head. You'll only need that if the mounts are original.
Other than the torx bit and the spring compressor, you shouldn't need any thing else.
Take the two nuts and bolts holding the shock mount off, two down on the lower control arm. You'll also need to remove the nut for either the lower or the upper ball joint, You don't need to do both, just one of them. The hardest part is getting the new spring on the shock. Once that's done, it's really a cake walk.
