Well it sound like you are doing it right. It helps if it is a known combo for the tuner. As you know there is a lot that goes into building a turbo system and there is a lot that can go wrong. In a perfect world it would be nice to test the system. Are you adding a extra ring gap to the top ring vs stock?

we're following the specs and recommendations of the piston manufacturer for the application. they have their ring gap measurements, then +/- charts for applications. they're total seal rings as well

Is the application take into account the car will have a turbo? Seems like a early failure point on turbo engines is top ring getting too hot seizing and ripping the top land right off piston. Maybe Cheeks can chime in on this?
This will cause slightly more blow by but it should make the engine a little more forgiving if you can some crappy fuel or waste gate sticks for a second or two.

if i recall correctly, yes. it has 4 sections; street, strip, nitrous, forced induction. also gives bore tolerance to allow for the piston growth. very detailed info to give the machinist

Is that a custom fabbed or pre-fabbed cage? I would've gotten the main hoop as close to the roof as possible so that if it were to collapse it wouldn't have much of a gap until it hit the bar. I'm tall so that could make a difference

Good idea, at least you got swingouts. Being 6' 3" climbing into any caged car without swingouts means I have to bend in weird ways to get in and out lol.
