Well I haven't updated this in a bit. Quick summary: Sold the Teal Z28, Bought and flipped a 2000 trans am, and still working on my car. I collected parts and swapped my stock rockers to 1.7s, since I will be going max effort with the stock motor. Next step is to put my battery in the trunk and get some race wheels and then hit the track

Another quick update! Battery has been relocated and the PCM wires have been tucked, which really cleaned up the engine bay! I also am now sitting on Racestar wheels which look great. I'll be hitting the track shortly to see what she does

Those wheels look real nice as does the wiring tuck. How did you fit the 1.7s under stock covers?

How much was involved with setting up the SLP CAI with the LT1, I assume that is a LS1 CAI?

Is the second CAI a kit or did you just piece it together? Do you think that would fit under a newer SS hood like on my 93? I have the cheap ebay intake on my Lt1 and I am looking for option.

I am also thinking about doing the brake swap, I plan on powder coating and rebuilding the calipers, which hoses are you buying? There was a source for buying hoses just for this Swap but the link I had is dead. I think the hard metal lines are mounted in a different place so neither stock line works 100%

I just trimmed the triangle supports underneath on one side and they slid right on!

With the Ultra Z hood I just bolted it up and adjusted my hood stops a little and it fit just fine. If your hood has a decent sized opening underneath for the ram air then it should be ok. The second CAI is an LS1 K&N FIPK, which fit a little nicer under the hood than the lid. Brake swap wise, I reused my stock lines, but with the tubular k member my hard metal lines might have been moved closer to the caliper which allowed them to work.

Update on the track last night: Best run I could squeeze out was 12.70. I think I have some tuning adjustments to do but I wasn't watching my wideband at all I think it was leaning out top end which is why it was slow. At least she hooked great all night and was pretty consistent. The 110 MPH one run is where I should be which would put me in 12.2ish range.

12.70 Pass on youtube

Your LT1 is working so well I hope you are planning a different V6 body to swap in the LS1. Nice V6 bodies are selling so cheap these days.

I am surprised your 1.7s don't hit the top of the cover. That's why I had to find new ones, my 1.6s would hit the top and not let the cover sit all the way down.

Mine are NSA with 7/16" studs and guide plates and have no clearance issues.

Hmm. I think may be it was just my poly locks that were hitting, I didn't really check to be honest. I set them on, noticed it didn't seat and bought new covers.

Car looks BA with those wheels and tires...I need to find some tires like that.
