Catmaigne, I've put about 30 miles on my headers since install and the paint is peeling towards the top of the headers but seems to holding fine down by the collectors which concerns me the most since water and salt are most likely to get there and rust it. I'm gonna touch up some of the spots again though and run the car to see if the paint will stick.

First fire up! And of course, with open headers!

The 155 spedo only came with z rated tires. It was an option that had to be ordered. Standard option was the car came with H rated tires which had a speed rating of 115 mph. Hence, the 115 sped cluster.

Yeah, I just remembered that I had asked this a while ago in another post and craby figured it out some of it for me. And H rated tires are for 130mph, not 115.

I have RPO code QMT which was for 235/55/R16 non-z rated tires. And like you said, since the tires weren't as wide nor Z rated, speedo was at 115. The problem though is the car had only two previous owners. Neither of which (they're friends) said they ever changed the rear tires. So the original tires that came on it when I bought it are the 245/50/R16 Z Rated tires. My car is a true oddball but I love it!

You've got me curious. Imma look into that. But at least you have the car. Really, the cluster is very easy to swap if you wanted to.

This car has myself curious. Haha. I've thought about doing the cluster swap...but being a college student has made money tight. Plus, I've had the last week and a half off so I could get packing (still getting to that) and so they can transfer me so no money being made there.

Thank you. I am hoping this summer to be able to do a lot more too it, mostly in the suspension department since pretty all the components are original with 115k miles on them.

For any one else that may read my thread (gonna be dead for a while since I'm in college and money is tight) do NOT buy VHT paint. It peals like crazy no matter how you put it on there. Better investment is Kyrlon BBQ and Grill paint. As far as I know, you can only get it in black...but it holds up 10x better. Have been driving for over two weeks with it on and has yet to start pealing.

Just read whole thread. You really have done some good work so far to a previously neglected Maro. Will definitely be following your progress. Keep up the good work.
