I'm not sure if the cats unbolt or not, I bought a complete set from American Racing Headers that had the ORY (Off road y-pipe) included, they have two different y-pipes available one with cats and one without.
Since I live in the sticks and don't have to DEQ my car I went without.
I had it installed by the tuner who did the cam ,heads and tune among other things so I never saw the old y-pipe.
My car already had the GMMG stainless steel chambered catback system, that set up runs about $800 so fortunately I didn't have to buy a muffler system.
The ARH headers and y-pipe were pricey but top shelf stuff and I don't like to scrimp with cheap headers, they're lifetime warranty and all stainless steel.
That set me back $1400 but I felt it was money well spent and since I didn't have to buy a catback I didn't mind spending a bit more on the headers.

thanks Y2K yes i found out how they work until i am ready for headers,i just cut off the
muffler too the y pipe single i am thrifty not cheap ,so the slp will replace the back muffler will be deleted ,looks like about a 3 -4 hour job ,i am going to do this in parts so cat back first keep the front stock get me the sound a few hp an can fix the other things, then next year get into headers heads an other things ,i still need to sell my 95 too

so for now i found a video shows exactly how the loud mouth works with the stock y pipe on back ,loses like 100 pounds too of heavy crap, first thing i did on the lt1 back in the day ,

i tend to get ahead of my self ,but cat back an maintenance are first on the list a few days or work ,got few cards to sell for the cat back

ATT Gorn I would just to a mail order tune after the headers. Tuned by Frost is a well-liked one. SLP Lids can be found cheap and sound nice.

What do you meen by mail order is it like software for my computer that plugs into the car ,for now i just want to do cat back with stock manifolds for the sound thing

? can i get like the the jet programmer for my car for like $250.00 ,i have that plug from one my older computers that would plug into the car the usb on computer is there software they send you thanks gorn ,or any one who knows ahead of time.

ANOTHER ? is does the 4th gen car have cabin filter in them all i se on ebay is like from toyota thats says it fit in 2002 z28 from china ? ,i know that most all new cars have them now thanks

Self tuners like the Jet tuners are the last option I would pick. If you knew a lot about tuning yourself then you could do a lot with the self tuner.

If your car was new (2018) your best bet would be to have it dyno tuned but when a get like Frost who has already dyno tuned 3000 LS1 Camaro with just about every aftermarket combination he can plug one of his proven tunes in and be 98% there. If you come up with a combination he has not seen in the last 15 years then you would need a Dyno tune or the last option a hand held self tuner.

my guess is for just cat back i dont need at tune will take a look couse i still dont know what mail order tune would be ,kinda slow with some things,i would guess if i read what it is then i may know thanks gorn

got just about all i need for the tlc plugs wires springs. an will get the slp soon there are a few guys makeing custom version in all stainless 3inch,where i could choose my own tips or not,i like some of the black tips out, just wonder how they hold up

on the other hand i have just thought about getting loud mouth an be done with it, has it all

ok now i remember the tune is that i send my computer to them looks like something will want to do after i do headers,an or heads if i choose cam things like that, yes i would say that would be after headers heads slp lid cam.only couse $450.00 seems like alot compared to the jet chip at 250.00 there pretty easy to use ,knowing the basics of computer helps

Default sold the beast

last year sold for 7k an oh well I relized these cars are not worth the time an money it takes to get them in good running shape ,not to mention they wont have value ,having allways like others makers ford dodge an so on I thought its time an went with a sweet 2005 mustang gt they better hold there value then these 4th gens do ,they have 8.8 in rear end wich can be made to be as strong as the ford 9in an are the same in a lot of ways an for a lot cheaper then a 9in ford, an that baby engine for the old 282ci 4.6l time tested puts out the same hp pretty much an the cars short wheel base ,I still have my white 2002 z28 being sold though to an got an had 282 block being bored to a 327 ,but for now will run the car with 68k ,an this time had to have 5 speed manual an rag top that you would swear is new ,seem the mustang is just built better I say I should have been ;looking a few years back, this build was fun the 406 ,but don't do it unles

s you got ton of money these cars are holding there value

Oh no, you crossed over to the dark side of the force! Looks like a decent car though, for a Ford.

yes the 4.6 time tested ,can get 550 to the wheels with roush super charger ,or like 420 or so with bore to 3.27 wich is my plan ,so build an plenty of good miles left on it ,stillwant the red ss right now there like30 to 1 on stangs over hear the 5 speed is nice though an rag top unlike a t top or a sun roof my first rag top ,the wind blowsright back where as with t tops or a sun roof its like a world wind fun with the top down its a different experience for sure an the top fit the car nothing like a red car with a brown rag top ugly
