socom- i was looking at turbo kits for it and i really like the sound and power of a turbo, but all my friends with their civics and mazdas and stuff have turbos and i really wanted to go with something a little less import. plus there is no boost lag with a supercharger. i feel like i can make the same top end power but better low end without the lag of a turbo. i am not totally dead set on a supercharger though. if i have the bottom end to support either then i can make my decision when the time comes next winter.

....but then i guess if i do go with the turbo setup then the thead title will be misleading lol....oh well
What did I just read. Turbos are far more efficient at making power than superchargers. You have to lose power in parasitic loss to gain power with a centrifugal supercharger. Centrifugal superchargers also have to spool up, because unlike positive displacement blowers, they have a turbine that needs to get spinning like a turbo. Also, turbo lag really isnt to big of a problem if you have the proper electronics such as a two step and anti-lag.

haha wow after reading that again i am not sure where i was going with that, but i never said they had the same efficiency, i know that turbos are more efficient because they use the exhaust from the manifolds, unless it is a rear mount system, to turn the turbine instead of using the power of the engine like a supercharger. like i said i havent made a final decision as to what i am using but sill leaning towards the supercharger

it was a lot of work but it will be worth it

i got the motor/trans/k-member pulled today, had to lift the body pretty high to roll them out. unbolted the trans and started taking stuff off the motor, but cant really continue until i get a motor stand next week.
