What are the ratios on the non power gear units?

1st is 3.06 and 2nd is 1.63. 1st to 2nd ratio drop is 1.28 with the gear and 1.43 stock.

Alright, so they're regular 4L60E ratios...hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info Craby.

ya from the way i understand it the 700r4 and 4l60 are the same gears. the gear change brings it closer the the 2004r ratios. the 2nd gear shift is supposed to be very smooth and picks up 2 to 3 tens in the 1/4. i was worried about the lower ratio for 1st but with the 370 gears the change should not effect launch at all.

Yeah, that sounds about right. 1-2 is a pretty hard shift with the stock ratios (and you are correct, the 700r4 is the same as the 4L60, so they have the same ratios. GM actually just renamed the 700R4 in 1993. In case you're curious 4 = 4 forward gears, L = Longitudinally mounted (RWD), 60 = strength rating. Then post 1993 they added the E = Electronically controlled)
With those ratios you could probably consider going for 4.11 gears. I'm not sure what your 3-4 look like, but it's a thought. It's just a little odd to see them decrease the ratio for the "power" option. It makes me laugh a little: 1st gear on my Subaru STi 5-speed is 3.454, 2nd is 2.062...lol
