Craby, how much did getting the whole engine done end up costing you? I wanna find at least another short block so I can start a rebuild but keep running my car since it is my daily driver.

i picked up a new gm factory shortblock on the net for 1k and new lt1 heads for 325 i think. heads intake and cam from elliotts 2k, then its parts. i figure i have about 4k into the motor maybe a little more. the old block will be stroked to 383 as soon as i can scratch up the bucks. need that 9in first and still have a trans issue i cant find time to deal with.

All right. I just wanted a rough estimate because I'd like to have a shortblock at home for me to work on during weekends and breaks from college. Would a block from a 'Vette work? I'd rather find a 4 bolt main all ready done then having a shop do it. Wasn't sure if the 'Vette LT1's had the reverse cooling too. And I know where I could find that and a 9in real cheap.
Not sure if I'd have LE do the heads/intake or if I take the time and p/p myself or have a local shop do it.

well went with spohn 9in. speed performance wanted way to much to install abs stuff. goin with 370 gears for starters. plan to invest in some 457s for track.
