V6 oil pans suck -- always rust through eventually on a daily driver that sees winter/salt...

 

Quick update, here is the upper intake manifold fresh from the sand blaster. Sorry about the cell phone pic.

Sorry for the late updates, but I have been playing the waiting game with the machine shop to get all the parts in and assemble my motor. Which is still in progress. On the bright side, I got my valve covers today



Mm they're gonna look good on the car.

Also got an oil fill hole cap and some spare grommets to keep around.

 

Good idea, the stock 3.4L valve covers suck -- I forgot the reason why now... ;-) They warp or something, as I recall.

 

Update time! Got all my rearend parts installed (tubular lca's, panhard, and torque arm), and got my shortblock parts installed. No pic of installed yet though

 

i have the exact same car now except dark red and black top with ttops

i want to do the same thing one day. i have 212000 miles on it with rebuilt motor at 160000.

 

good looking build, do what you like and don't worry about all the haters that say every thing sucks.......SFC

 

im jealous cause i wish i had the time and money to rebuild my 95 3.4

 

Sorry for the epic long wait, but I just got the motor back yesterday and I've been hard at work!

For starters, I put another coat of chevy orange engine enamel on the block and painted the upper intake manifold silver.







Then I did a little home port and polish job on my throttle body.



Then I test fitted the headers and put all the accesories back on the car, also test fitting the intake manifold, that will be installed once the motor is in the car.
