More than one leak then, but that's not your real problem now anyway. Looks like some of your bearings went to toast. Do show & tell if and when you rip it apart.

Maybe I should forget the cam and rebuild and go all-in to try to get some big speed shop to use my car for a Gen V LT1 swap

So I'm thinking my best option will be taking the car to a self-storage facility nearby and doing the work there. By the looks of it, a 10x20 storage space will run me about $140-$150/month. I know somebody with an engine hoist I could probably borrow, so if I get the storage space figured out between now and then, hopefully I can start going to town on this by next weekend.

No, I'm thinking full rebuild with cam and stock heads, plus a higher stall torque converter (3000+) and a few other "might as well do it now since the engine's already out" mods.

Yeah 1.6rr's I consider "supporting mods" with the cam swap. Those, springs, pushrods, and new timing chain. And I know it would be a good time to do something like LE heads, but I think I shouldn't have a problem getting to my goal 325-350whp range cam only. New LE1 heads are $900. I'd like to keep the engine build under $1500 if possible.

As far as cams go, that CC503 is looking pretty good right now...

So this just came along:

LT1 Performance Parts

I'm seriously considering some of this stuff. From what I'm reading about the cc306, it might not be very well-suited for what I'm going for, but the heads and rockers at the very least sound pretty good to me. Maybe I could get a package deal and sell off what I don't use. Thoughts?
