Default Door panel switches

I hope someone can help. I recently picked up a 2002 Z28 with 30,000 miles on it. It is in mint shape. I really enjoy the LS power. I have had several 3rd Gens and this is definitely an upgrade.

Well my question is the interior door panel switches. They seem to not illuminate at night. Are they supposed to? I can see the light shining out around the door handle/switch but the switches are dark. I can't imagine GM made them this way but please advise. Thank you in advance.

Well I figured it out. It appears whoever put this car together left the light dangling in the door panel. I removed the door switch and found it. I installed in the correct socket and I now have light on the switches.
