Default Weird Wiring?

Since I can't yet afford the Dash leds
(high schooler about to graduate)

I was messing around with some others i had laying around.
I did the Headlight switch
And The Foglight one.
(the other is the SRS and i never use it; no ice in florida)
But anywho..
I have a 12v LED cluster in my rear dome for the backseat. It's been there for a while. It works fine and even dims with the front 'map' lights in the mirror.

Earlier I found 2 more of those clusters and decided to do the Map lights.
The first one went in, worked perfect ( Started with Driver side)
Once I started taking the bulb from the Passenger side, the driver side lit up.
However, very very dim
once i completed the both of them, they both stay dimly lit, even when off
They are fine when on, but when they are supposed to be off, they're lit.
Any ideas?

I'll try to con my phone into working to take some pictures here shortly.
Any help appreciated, Thanks.

(The clusters i have are 4 leds with their own resistor made for 12v)

seeing as this thread kinda got dug up, and i havent been here in forever, i might as well post a couple pics of what i've done recently.. Still not finished as you can tell, forgot to order LED's for the steering wheel controls and just havent done the headlight switch and foglight switch yet..
But, here's the gauges, door panel LED, HVAC, and glove box..

I know they're dirty in the pic, since then they've been cleaned lol..

Nice Bill, what did you use to clean the gauges? Mine got smudged up too, didn't realize how easily they smudge.

Thanks for all the info guys!!! I just got the LEDs in my HVAC controls, shift gear indicator, and center console compartment - I went with white for all of these.

Looks good. You'll definitely have to post up pics of your gauges when you get the other LEDs installed. It will be interesting to see those colors.

So I got the purple LEDs in after prying out the old bulbs that were soldered in. You also have to modify the new bulbs a bit and bend the wires around the socket. It was tough to get a good photo without using a flash so you could actually see the lights, but here's an ok shot:

Thanks again for all the help and info guys!!!
