Looking to replace my stock set up
Ok, ive got a very low budget but im tired of driving around listening to the radio and crackling speakers when i hit higher volumes... So i did some craiglisting... what can you guys tell me about this amp? Kenwood KAC-9102D (http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/424415016.html) this head unit PANASONIC MP3/WMA (http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/424415016.html)... I dont really want to buy an amp or subs from craigslist but ive got a tight budget and want something alil bit more reliable than used speakers/amp. Any suggestions on what i can get on a budget? I am looking at the F-body stealth kit for boxes etc.
ive had pioneer speakers in my car, they worked.. then i went to infanity speakers. they are AWESOME, compared to the pioneer anyway. i wanna say the front speakers were 120 and the rears a little over 200 for both of them. Would sound better amped and with a newer head unit, mines almost 10 5 years old already..
I had a Jensen deck in my mustang, stock speakers 2 pioneer 10" IMPs and a Bolt (or something) amp and it was pretty killer.. wish i woulda had it taken out so i could put it in my camaro now.. its not like any of the money i sold my mustang for actually went into the car i have now.. maybe 1900 worth.. Ill bring it to car toys see what i can get hooked up with after i get the F-bodystealth kit.
ok, found a killer deal on a Dual deck and two 10 inch Alpine subwoofers. Now two questions. With new wires and new subs will i be able to run on the stock speakers? and 2nd of all what type of amp should i get? 2 channel or multi channel.. like i said im on a tight budget and i just want something that sounds better than stock and will be able to bump when i need it to bump. right now from car toys if i wanted just a head unit and sub speakers it will run me 140ish with the deal ive found.
The more you spend the better it's gonna sound. Your head unit is the most important thing you can buy, don't go cheap with that. Why get subs and amp if your interior speakers suck, you won't be able to turn it up anyway if there blown. IMO $140 isn't gonna get you ****. If I were you get a good head unit and some new interior speakers. Like 350rs said infinity's are great (I have them as well.)
Go with a good Alpine head unit and some infinity interior speakers. Then save up for your subs and amp.
Don't go cheap, you will regret it.

hey i got a kicker ix704 amp for the speakers if you want. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0EqnyUO...p;search=ix704 Everybody i've talked to sais it's a great amp, but that's all up to you. Great amp to amp you speakers with and they would sound great. $110 shipped. pm me if you're interested.
i've also got a kenwood, not unlike the one that you want, mine has a fan on it tho that keeps it kool. That's actualy the only other difference i can see. I'll get you the model number for ya tomorrow, but i'm asking 90 shipped for it. It currently is hooked up to my two 15" jl audio w0's. With sub control turned half way up with power at to amp at 2/3 and my regular bass at half way, it rattles my rear view mirror so much that it actually moves down as they hit. It's a good amp, and i bought it from my friend because he bought a brand new alpine. So i'd sell either to ya and still be able to use the other for my subs. But the Kenwood is only 2 channel bridgeable.
