It's basically gravity pulling the needle around. The electric motors in the cluster level it out when you turn on the key. Like I said just plug it in before you put it all back together and make sure they lever out lol.

Looks like the needles are working, except the speedo. I used Android Speedometer for a rough estimate of my speed (Uses triangulation from GPS satellites), and it seems that the speed is wrong 90% of the time. I read somewhere that the speed will be displayed wrong if the rear end or the transmission has a wrong gear ratio. I figure it's worth mentioning that the person that owned the car before me swapped out the stock rear axle for one from a Z28, though I'm not sure exactly what that would do in terms of speed reading, considering the wheels are the same size...

You need to check the rpo codes in he glove box and see what gear ratio your car came with. Then check the stamp on the rear end to see what gears are in your current rear end. You may want to start a new thread in the 4th gen section about rear end gears and surely someone will chime in to help you out.

Yes so if he has a "non" factory gear ratio, his speedo will be out of calibration.

Well, found a company that can help re-calibrate the Speedo, but I'm a bit iffy about using them. I'l include more info in my thread under the General section.

In the meantime; added the LEDs to the cluster and it looks SICK against the existing red under the dash (Area where your feet go, I can never find the proper name for it), and the newly-installed red LEDs in the rear view mirror (map lights). I'll get around to posting some pictures here for the LED sswap, and in my progress thread in the General section of the forum

Does anyone know what type the bulbs are. Superbright has direct replacements that do not need any soldering.

Here is the link to the bulbs. Just not sure which ones I would need to order.
