Enough HP is defind by "being able to to leave 2 black strips all the way till you have to put on the brake." At that point you have enough.
Just doing a good soild rebuild can cost 3-4K. Even most guys with much bigger budget figure out pretty quick boosting a LT1 is not worth it. A 383 stroker kit is a better way to spend your money.
When setup right Turbos will always win over super chargers except in drag racing. You want to see what can be done with a Turbo head over to Youtube and search Shelby Code Red. I am not a Ford man in any way shape or form but you got to give props to a 1400 hp street car that could be a daily driver. If your super rich

you'll need to expand upon that with respect to which class of vehicles. Top fuel and funny, absolutely. But, on 1/4 mile tracks (not 1/8) running top sportsman or outlaw and even 10.5 and drag radial, you can at times see turbos run down S/C's and nitrous vehicles at the top end.
But, I do prefer a big ole blower sitting on top of a big block and watching a door slammer run a flat 6. That's just crazy. I love the outlaw cars.
