Wiper Problem...
So about 2 weeks ago, was driving on the highway, went to spray the windshield, and the wipers stopped after doing the auto-wipe they do with the sprayer in the up position. Turned them to mist then off and they retracted as they should. Sprayed the windshield again maybe an hour later and they did the same thing, stopped in up position. No amount of turning off pulling fuse etc. fixed it, permanently reverting to up position when off.
I replaced the pulse board (what an incredible pain to do that...) turned key to "on" and now the wipers wipe constantly no matter what stalk is positioned to. It seemed very hard to plug the new pulse board in, like I had to give alot of force to make the little tab on the back of the plug go as far down as it should. I am wondering maybe I bent a pin(s) inside the plug. Maybe just removing the old pulse board and putting the new pulse board straight in was wrong? I am not sure there is much else I could have screwed up, just a faulty board? I am at a loss.

Well that solved the wipers going on by themselves problem, but they are still parking in the up position. I am pretty sure the pulse board is the only thing that tells the wipers where to go and controls the park.
I have experienced the "hi, i"m a dork" wipers in the flag up position. The problem lies with a weak or likely broken parking pawl spring located inside the wiper drive mechanism. Really difficult to describe, but I did repair (replace) my missing spring using one from a retractable pen. I found a forum post where someone describes the procedure. I'll see if I can locate it
