Default What's this bolt called?

My car lost a caliper bolt while I was driving Sunday evening and the caliper ate up the inside of the wheel. Not sure how this happened but I need to know what to ask for to replace it. It's the bolt that connects it to the rest of the car near the top. Someone else looked at it and said to go get a caliper bolt, but Autozone sent me back with the wrong kind. What is that bolt exactly so I know what to search around for?

Depends on year and if we're working on the front/rear. 93-97 front, the slide pin and the bolt that holds the caliper to the spindle is one unit and is just called the caliper pin, should be an Allen Hex with threads on the end. 99-02 front, a bolt holds the caliper bracket to the spindle while the caliper pin holds the caliper to the bracket. On all years, the rear has the bolt/pin incorporated as one unit like the 93-97 fronts.

It's an 02 base model on the rear.

I stand corrected. Later years use a bracket with the caliper. So, if it's the bolt that holds the bracket to the rear axle, then it's just caliper bolt. If it's the bolt/slide that goes from the caliper into the bracket, then it's the caliper pin/slide as well as bolt.

Worse case, go to the local parts store, have them look up the rear caliper and bring it out to show you, then point to what you need.

Thanks for the link. I believe it's #14 on the rear in that person's post. I have the part looked up on GM Parts Direct. Is there any place I might be able to find the dimensions of this bolt to track down a replacement in person?
