Question Whats the best trans fluid to use?

What's the best fluid to use for a 4l60E I just beefed it up with better clutches and servos. And how many arts do I need including the torque converter which is a 3000 stall 10inch?

Look into Amsoil products. I started using them a couple of years back and Im impressed with the quality of them. I used special 10w40 with Zinc in my 92 ZR-with good results. Also, I use the Amsoil Torque Drive in my Z06. Its an automatic transmission fluid, but its compatable with the T-56 transmission also. My shifts are smoother and it really helped with cold temperature shifting.

Amzoil, Royal Purple, and Red Line are top of the line products. I have Valvoline Max Life in mine right now, but I don't run it too hard, but it doesn't have an easy life either.

Any Dexron 6 fluid should be fine. Don't go with a lower number Dexron anymore, they have been superseded, despite your Owner's Manual...

12 quarts plus perhaps a wee bit more for a complete fill including T/C but be sure to follow the proper process and let it warm and check when on flat surface and idling.

A full fill for the trans (including TC) is 10.8 quarts for a stock 4L60E. Just the pan would be 5 quarts.
