what auto trans fluid should i use?
just got a trans filter for my car..autozone recomended dex/merc their usually wrong but it was on sale when you buy any auto trans filter so i bought 5qts for $14 if this is wrong ill return and buy the proper

Dextron II is what is called for in the owners manual. But you might notice stores usualy don't stockI or II, maybe even IIwhat ever number its up to now.

use Dexron IV its the trans fluid which superseded dex III which superseded dex I, its what GM calls for, and its what is currently in my 700-R4 at this very moment.

Maybe it's like how the 1984 Vette superseded the 1982?
