Default what kind of muffler?

Whatsup yall, i just bought my '96 z28 about a week ago and it has the stock muffler. of course, that has to go. now with the dual pipes coming off the muffler, not any muffler will fit, and i'd like to keep the twin pipes. So what muffler do yall have on your z28's,i'd like something straight-through and loud

Your muffler is a simple single in, dual outlet so a lot of mufflers will work.

But you are best off just getting a catback as they provide everything you need for a clean install for an affordable price. Expect to pay around $400 or so for a good quality catback, though high end ones will be double that; Magnaflow, SLP, Corsa, Borla, TSP, Flowmaster and many others have products out there. You need to do some research, set a budget and find what you like.

I have a flowblaster on mine. Stock exhaust, aftermarket muffler. Just cut your stock one out and weld a new one in. You can get a nice magnaflow (my recommendation) for @$100. I plan on replacing my flowcrapper with a magnaflow as soon as I can afford it. (can you tell I hate flowmasters?) Or, like FD says, get a catback, but I can't justify that expense since the stock system is basically the same thing.

jkeaton, you flip-flop more than a politician. Is it "flowblaster" or "flowcrapper"? The name "blaster" actually sounds pretty good.

I had a flowmaster on my 3.4 and loved it. Nice deep rumble, actually everyone thought the car was a V8 you should have seen there faces when I said it was just a baby 3.4l V6

Your words are hurtful....The names are interchangeable.

I recommend a full SLP LoudMouth2 system. They can be had on eBay for about $425 or cheaper. Search "SLP 31043" on eBay and you'll get tons of results..
