Mechanical. It has a little slightly transparent white tube that goes straight to the block from the gauge.

weird that the stock gauge is acting like that. sounds like the sensor is going. 15 is good at idle, may want to switch to a little thicker oil.

It currently has 3 quarts of 10w40 with 2 quarts of hyperlube in it.

should be ok with that, maybe see how it goes after next oil change. long as it isnt going down on ya.

Ok. I'm probably also going to try putting the bolt back in place of my Bosch gauge just to see what happens. Something in me says having both gauges in there is what is making the stock one weird. Just seems like too like too much of a coincidence for it to just now go out immmediatepy after installing a new one.

Not sure why yours would do it. Mine didn't but then again my mechanical reads off the back of the intake and my stock down by the filter, where else yours is the other way around, though that shouldn't matter.

I would take the water light .serious if it keeps comeing on an stays on did you ever mention the miles on the car ?

shouldnt make any difference, its just reading the amount of pressure and its not electric so your not drawing or adding power to anything. 80 is pretty much max, usually a bad sensor but could be a grounding wire to it as well.
