In 2007 when that thread was made a decent LS1 camaro was $20,000. This project was a huge money saver. When you can buy a Blown motor LS1 for $1000 and 6.0 out of a truck for $1000 and spend $500 and and 2 weekends and have a 350hp car why would you convert anything? If you really loved your car and wanted a learning project is really the only reason that makes sense to me.
Yes you can pretty much add a $1000 to any project for the t56.
Edit:
Not the best deal I have seen but that is asking price and it looks like there is a lot of good parts there. Still having the PCM and harness is gold. Those normally go with the engine.

What car guy in his right mind doesn't have an LS or 2jz swap in mind for a car? Lol I'm just keeping options open. As far as I know the LS has way more support across the board in other vehicles so if I want to move to another platform I can swap into another car easier than the LT ya know? No hate on 4th gen camaro but I prefer 3rd and back puss I'm more of a firebird guy lol. If I build the LT instead of swapping I might feel stuck later on

So I can't really say anything about the low end knock anymore since I don't think I'm hearing that since I've put a second quart of hyperlube in but a knock from higher up (i think) is noticeable after I have it warmed up. It's not so noticeable cold. I grabbed a Bosch oil pressure gauge that I'll hook up tomorrow to see if the pressure really doesn't get past 40 or if my gauge is just malfunctioning.

It is more of a tap tick but paranoia and inexperience tell me it's a knock lol. It's not the same as it was before the hypperlube though. I put a video on YouTube "zygee's z28 noise". I'll post a link in a minute. idk why my phone won't let my paste

So I'll look into both of those in a bit. For the injector can I take it out and clean it or should I put some seafoam in the gascan?
Also, on a different note, how should I route an oil pressure gauge through the firewall? If I can avoid making new holes I'd like to. If not then I can deal with it lol.

driver side i think the steering coluum has room. yep try some seafoam or other good injector cleaner. or could take them all out and have them cleaned and flow tested at a injector shop.
