Default Vapor Canister Lines

Hey guys just wanted to ask if #15 p/n 12555830 has no connection?

I have a 97 3.8

I took it to the mechanic and i'm almost positive it had that elbow looking piece. Now it doesn't have it and I believe its sucking air. It sounds like I have a vacuum leak and the car wants to stall when I'm in park or at a red light.

I'm thinking of picking one up at the junk yard tomorrow but just want to make sure it doesn't lead anywhere?

If its a elbow piece it should be closed at the other end right?

Thank you!

Maybe a picture of your car would help. Your diagram is of a Lt1 V8.

As a general rule vacuum leaks cause higher RPM and the complaint is the jerks going into gear and you have the hold the brake harder at stop lights to keep the car from going.
