Default Vapor Canister?

Does anyone know where to find a new vapor canister? I think thats what its called. I need that black canister that sits on the driver side, right by the radiator. If anyone knows where to get one, or if I even need it, please let me know! Its greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did you old one break or is it missing and you need it for emissions?

Unless you need it to pass vehicle or DEQ inspection, it's not a necessary item to make your car run well. It simply is a way to catch vapors and return them to the fuel tank. Took mine off my '71 back in '73 when I bought it, as it was a Ca. item, and not required in other states at that time.

Been thinkin about taking mine out,so when i do,do you just plug the line that goes to it or do you pull the line off the tank and plug it back there?

Since I've never had my tank out I simply plugged the line where it came off the tank above the axle. Then I changed to a vented gas cap. That's all it took to work great.
