Default Upgrading Rearend Gears

Is it worth installing new rearend gears? Will itreally improve power andacceleration for the money it costs?i was thinking about installing SLP's Ring and Pinion with the 3.73 ratio.

What he said. And it's fine if you're not gonna add too much horsepower, these rearends aren't that strong.

what i was told when i was doing mine was if you go with a GM gear, they will be quieter than any aftermarket. something to think about but a 3:73 would be good for your car

You did not state what car, engine, tanny and present rear gear ratio. Anyone asking about gear changes before other mods are reading too many post on that subject. Some of the basic reasons are:
1) parts are expensive along with the install labor.
2) if the correct cut of gears are not selected, noise problems will occur.
3) NOT a DIY type of job for anyone and problem will happen if not done by the book.
4) If you don't have the horses up front a gear change is a waste.

One of the above posts suggested a Torque Converter and I agree. Just so it in a reasonable range (2500 rpm's) for a daily driver.
