Updates and records of my car.
So, while the TA cover is fairly highly recommended, it's like the only aftermarket girdle style cover that has no brace options.
I don't think I'm concerned about it. I won't be pushing much more than near stock power through the car, so hopefully that's all I'll need.
I might end up buying a new diff that's a 30 spline as well, and upgrade the axle shafts to Yukon 30 spline.
-edit-
No slicks on my car either, standard road tires only.

looks pretty normal. shaft goes in and out when the rear of the car goes up and down. lol. i have been searching for cause of vibration in mine for years. replaced drive shaft, reared, lower control arms, sway bars, panhard bar, torque bar, transmission, engine, pretty much everything and its still doing it. adjusting the torque bar has helped. changed one motor mount and it helped so im going to change other and see what happens. it was sagging pretty bad, didnt think the other looked so bad. next im going to measure the rearend to make double sure its squared up.
If you took that picture with the rear wheels off the ground, the axle droop will pull the driveshaft slip yoke out some. You want the yoke pulled out a minimum of 3/4" from where it's bottomed out, no more than 1" is desirable but not the law. If you really want to know what you have, you need to disconnect the driveshaft at the rear to know where bottom is, and the end play is checked only when the weight of the car is on the rear wheels. If you're getting vibrations from that spot, either your tail housing output bushing is shot, or the u-joint is.

Both of those have been replaced, the bushing and the u-joints.
It did have a worrying amount of play on it though when it was up there, could really clunk it around up and down just by hand.

The car was on a lift when we took that picture there.

Well, we're now replacing a high pressure power steering hose that split on us.
Had some smoke come pouring out under the hood, steering got REAL hard to turn. I thought the pump we got went bad already (after craby spoke of having to go through 3 of them before he got a good re-man one), but the hose just ate it.
Coated the exhaust manifold, was just burning the fluid as it was spraying out.
