Default Tranny question

Quick newbie question here. I just purchased a 93 Z28. Was wondering what is better for the long term for my tranny (auto). Should I drive all the time in OD or drive in Drive in the city and in OD on the highway. Ive heard of some OD trannys not lasting long if you drive em too much in OD but Ive also heard the contrary.

Thanks for any advice (Im a former Vette guy and have little knowledge of Camaros)

As far as the trans works in this vintage, makes no difference between the Vette or Camaro. Around town, I always drop mine into Drive and not O/D. Overdrive isn't needed and just lugs the engine's rpms down too much. Plus the trans may like to keep shifting in and out of O/D at such a low speed, but you might not like it. There's a reason why you're given a gear selection on the shifter, use it to your advantage.

Thanks for the reply. So I guess D in traffic and around town and OD on the highway is the way to go.
