Question Tire Size Questions

So I need 2 new front tires for my RS, and am considering 245/50/16 tires on my stock rims, but this size is for the Z28 -- will there be any issues?

It looks like going with this size I can get a ZR speed-rated tire which should be better for handling due to the stiffer sidewalls, regardless of the RS' top speed.

So does that size above sound ok on these stock rims, despite the stock size is normally 235/55/16?

TIA!

Yeah there shouldnt be any issue with fitment, But if you want better cornering go with a smaller sidewall (maybe a 40 or a 45). I think large sidewalls on camaros look weird.

^ Searching Tirerack.com there is just nothing in those sidewalls with that 245 & 16" for all-season tires...

245 50 16s will fit fine on an 8 inch rim. speedo should be close to the same.

Thanks for the inputs all. So I still have good tread on the rear -- any issues having 245/50/16 in front, and 235/55/16 in back (could be vice versa for that matter)? I would hate to waste useable tires...

would look and handle better with the thinner tires on front.

245/50/16 is what I have. They are awesome. Biggest size you can go is 255 then you need wider rims.

the wider tire should be used in the back. at least thats what i would do. the hight difference is not much. 1/3 inch.
