Update:

3 weeks

At this point I would re-apply. The finish is now more of a matte finish, it still looks nice and clean. On sunday i'll post a picture of my wifes tire again, as stated before this stuff is holding up better on her tire. Im going to wait to re-apply just to see how it looks as it degrades.

This will be the final update, i have come to the conclution that the black tire coat from turtle wax used in this thread works much better on smaller/stiffer sidewalls than it does on larger more flexible sidewalls. I applied it to my mother-in-law's tires on the same day as I did my wife's tires, and it looks pretty much the same as it does on mine. She drives even less than my wife does...so there you have it. I hope someone got some use out of this.

Later...

oh yeah forgot to mention, both mine and my mother-in-law's sidewalls are 60%, my wifes are 45%

so I lied...here is my wife's tire today

and back when there were only 2 weeks on this tire shine...

nothing other than washing off the tires with regular car wash soap and a sponge was done...no reapplication of any tire shine products.

I'm impressed.
