Default Ticking noise!

Im hearing a Ticking noise comming from my engine bay and i have isolated it to a black celonid above the passanger side valve cover. Ive been told its for gas vapor and theres a piston in there that moves back and forth. There is a mounting bracket that the celonid sits on near the vavle cover when i have it on this it ticks and i can hear it inside the car and it drives me crazy. ive tried replacing the valve with a new one and i still get the noise is this a comming problem and is there a fix? im awalys afraid to drive the car with weird noise.

may be a bad gas cap. i think your talking about evap solenoid. could be the evap pressure control valve back by the fuel tank on the driver side. i think it tells the solenoid what to do.

3.8l v6 and ya its the evap solenoid its defentally not piston slap or any engine noise i know that for 100% face when i take the solenoid off the bracket the noise goes away... i have it zip tied to the bracket now it seems to be alot better..

i dont think u should ignore it though. test the evap control valve and have your gas cap tested. failing evap can mess up your mpg and run your oil really fast. does your oil smell of gas?
