+1 on Camaro69 again. I had to do the same thing when I replaced mine. Give it a pretty good shot of penetrating oil and let it sit overnight before you try. It seemed to help me a bit.
Since you are replacing the opti, are you doing plugs/wires/waterpump as well?
I read a guide somewhere online that steps you through on how to verify that the opti is getting the necessary signals to operate. I have lost the link to the guide though. Could come in handy after you get the opti replaced if it won't fire.

ya i figured that was the case i did coat it in pen oil lastnight but im just gunna get a puller there cheep and a gotta go to the parts store to order the opti anyways
ya shes getting new plugs wires opti and coil the waterpump seems good the blades spin freely but are snug i am going to get all new seals for it tho
You shouldn't have to. The lower pulley is a snug fit...from years of crud and rust, it's not a press fit. I rapped mine off with a block of wood and hammer from the back side under the car, working back and forth, left side-right side. Once the pulley is off, and you clean off all the rust that's on it and the hub, it'll slip right back on with no force.
