^exactly! I've done all the research and the structure of a hard top and t-top car are exactly the same.

^ I just added a good how-to link to my previous post. Don't know if you saw it, or have seen that one before?

Salvage yards are your best friend. And BC: the saws all doesn't need to be accurate. It's a very generous cut leaving me over an inch of play. Every swap I've seen done was accomplished with a saws all.

i did the swap to my car and i thought i was going to get sent to the funny farm when my wife looked out and noticed me cutting my car with a sawz all. If you do go through with it the best advice i can give you is take your time. cuz if you get a cut off by even a 1/4 inch you will have issues with them sealing right. I learned this the hard way. i just had a doner car and i know how to weld so i removed my mistake and welded a new piece in. and yes you will have lots of body flex. i took a corner a bit hard while stepping into it and cracked my windshield. oh and no matter how good of a job you feel you did take plenty of extra towels if you plan to go through an automatic car wash. as well as in the summer getting away from the sun and heat is not going to happen. dont take me wrong i love the way my car looks with the t-tops but other than looks i wish i would not have done it. oh and the are loud too. lots of wind noise. oh and i agree with the idea of using a cut off wheel with a grinder. they are much more accurate and when you see the size of the holes you will be drilling to remove the spot welds you might want the cut off wheel. cuz what i did was drill a smaller hole and if i needed i carefully cut around the weld ( only going through the first piece of metal) and then used a flap wheel on the grinder to smooth out what little bit was left over.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure and get some subframe connectors for the flex. As far as wind and water leaks, I kinda expected that..
