Stock Manifold Questin, need help asap
Hey I just hit a rough spot tearing my engine down to rebuild it. The stock manifold bolts that connect to the Y pipe are pretty old looking at look like they are a 15 mm size. Im having probs getting to them and getting them off anyone know of a way to do this without buying a deep well 15 mm sockit?
alright thanks for the replies, there is just so much limited room up there any ideas on anything i can take out first to make the job easier? maybe the sterring linkage.
Removing things to gain access is fine. Just make sure you remember how it goes back together. [&:] If you know anyone with a lift, that would help out tremendously.
You can take off the starter, that may make the passenger side a bit easier to access. Instead of WD-40 I recommend Aerokroil, or if you can't find any of that PB-Blaster is the next best thing. When I did my header I twisted off 1/2 of those bolts, so good luck...
PB-Blaster is great stuff, also, use a wrench/socket that is six sided, so you don't strip the head of the bolt. Ratcheting wrenches are wonderful little tools too.
