Last week I noticed my from right tire, which is only 2 years old, had some cracks going from tread to the side wall about that were about 2 inches long. These tires didn't come a warranty so I purchased discounts lifetime protection. I took it in and they replaced 2 of them with some Yokohama Y520's. They put my two original Coopers in the from and put the Yokohamas in the back. Now the problem I've been having since I left the shop is when I drive on any road that has any inconsistency at all my car jerks to one side or the other even though my steering wheel is staying straight. I first noticed this when I was driving on the freeway and there is a crack in one of the lanes that goes for almost a mile and my right wheel catches it and it take control of my car and tries to throw it into the next lane. But his also happens at slower speeds on the regular streets if there are any bumps or inconsistencies in the road it jerks also. This never happened before I took it into get the tires looked at. What do you guys make of it? Should I be pissed off and take it back to have them fix something they screwed up when changing my tires?

sounds like the front is out of alignment. have someone bounce the steering wheel back and forth while u look under the car for lose parts. tie rod ends, ball joints mostly. if u have play from one or both of these from being worn the car will do what ur car is.

Check the wheel alignment and condition of the front end first. However, this is fairly common problems with wide tires. The problem usually goes away in about 500 miles, or so. The tires that were previously used on the rear end loose the square edges when used on the front end, and the darting around goes away.
