Default Starting car without cooling system

This is going to sound silly, I am putting a new opti in my car and replacing icm. Before I put all the stuff back together I want to make sure it works, would it harm the car if i start it for like 3 seconds without radiator to see if it works? Or even without water pump? Just to make sure it Turns over? Thanks

Just my opinion, I would not start it without the water pump installed. Letting it run without coolant for 3-5 seconds is probably not going to hurt anything. I would only do it once.

A few seconds to make sure it runs isn't going to hurt anything.
