Bottom line is this.. GM has a habbit of underrating engines more so than most companies. Most of their performance oriented engines have been underrated from the factory (at least up until the new SAE rules that took effect a coupe years ago) and the LS1 in the f-body cars is one of the most extreme examples. That engine made virtually the same hp (give or take 15) in every car it was put in. Other examples of underrated engines that were put in multiple cars are the LS2, LS6, LT1, and LSJ Ecotec among others, but most of those were rated at the same (but incorrect) hp in the various cars you could get them in.

which is exactly why using the rated HP numbers makes absolutely no sense what so evAr!

its not worth bringing up again..... if he wants to believe his lt1 is a mid 13 second car he can

Yeah I was talking about the 1 second part, and it wasn't meant as any kind of personal attack, just an issue I'm really tired of. Sorry if I seemed offensive. The bulk of that post had nothing to do with your quote.
