i dont know. it seems the ss pushes more hp, but that means nothing since you could do just about anything with a camaro(intake, heads, headers, etc.) ive seen people custom make engine parts for camaros, its crazy...
i personally love my Z28, its just those in-the-head things, you gotta want one or the other, and check for best prices...
which satisfies you better, (your name) in the Z or (your name) in the SS
on what basis do you make this claim? it SEEMS like it? are you saying you have ridden in both cars in stock form recently enough and close enough together to actually make a statement like this? or when you say pushes are you just saying that it looks like a faster car? its kinda like saying "i dunno, it feels like this lake is actually wetter....." we know that if you put the cars side by side on the dyno they will make the same power. We also know that the current stock record is held by the Z and not the SS.

I’m compelled to put in my 2 cents. I have a 95 Z28 6-speed and a 97 30th anniversary edition auto in the arctic white and hugger orange white leather/ hounds tooth interior with the white painted corvette wheels, and the difference between the two is night and day, that 97 almost scares me to drive it, I did say almost, you can loose control real easy if you aren’t careful.

The cars that you have are exactly the same except the color and some minor OBDII electronic changes (unless the 97 is an SS, in which case it has a different hood and intake so you get at most 15 more HP). The auto is going to be a bit faster off the line due to a more aggressive first gear, but they have the exact same motor in them.

so basically what you guys are saying is go for the Z28 cuz its cheaper and you can add up to the power of the SS cheaper than actually buying the SS?

If you can get an SS SLP at a reasonable price go for it.

If your looking for a good cost to value ratio, you can't go wrong with a Z28.
