Angry Brake Light Wiring Issue

My 97 Camaro just failed it's inspection for the driver's side brake light being 2/3 out.

The problems are not on replace the bulbs but more or less a ground wiring issue.

My question for all the experts on this forum:

What is the cheapest, fastest, way to get this issue resolved? I only drive this beast around the holidays and just need a temporary fix to the wiring issue>>

All advice would be much appreciated,
Thanks!

Why did you put fuse in the title? And it most likely is a bad ground, grounds in these older Camaros cause the electrical system to act weird Locate the grounds and inspect and clean them.

Thanks for the correction iLL95, just changed it. I take it that locating the grounds for cleaning inspection is something I can do myself. If not, idea on costing?

Clean the wire ends on the wires to the power junction box. ( the small red plastic box on the passenger side fenderwell) theres a ground juction there to, cleam those. There are a few grounds to the motor. One on the front diver side below the coil. One on the front passenger side under the tensioner, and one on the passenger side motor mount and one on the passenger side of the block in front of the starter. I believe those are the grounds, someone can correct me if they wish. Are you sure it isn't the bulb? have you tested your theory?

goin to need to do some tracking. pull the cover off the tail light fixture and get the volt meter out and test the wires to the lights for power and ground. could be the plugin or a bad wire.

Crab man brings up a good point, test the voltage from one light and from the other, if it's the same- it's the bulb, if not, it's either a bad wire or ground, they're both a pretty easy fix

all the rear lights are grounded to the hatch release support in the middle. i would look at the wires and plugins. there is also a harness connection and it should be on the driver side. i think it splits after that connection and goes to the two lights. i would think the problem would be between that connection and the bulb.

Are you referring to either of the connectors near the ground and the hatch release? I'm having brake light issues myself and want to be sure to check everything.

in my 93 book it shows the harnees plugin is on the driver side. could be its more to the center but yes they are back in that area.
