So these examples say "short shifter" so they are not short throw? I want an actual short throw. Don't want to spend a fortune, but don't want a cheap pos Chinese version that's liable to break off in mid shift either.....

Short sticks also reduce the length of the throw, but they are just a shorter stick. I also had the stock Hurst in my WS6, and while it was nice, the throws were long and it felt mushy, I changed the stick out for a 6" one and had improved throws and feeling.

Stock Hurst vs 6" short stick

Brand of shifters is all preference, some people like how the stocker feels, others with a short stick, others prefer the Hurst Billet, or Pro 5.0, etc.

I think all the shifters are short throw but many short throw handles can NOT be hacked off or replaces. I have the older Hurst Short throw. I can just cut off 2-1/2" and drill one hole and I have both. The newer Hurst shifters have a tappered shaft like the one you are looking at. It would be tuff to convert that to a short handle.

Thanks for all the imput guys. I think for now, im going to do what I usually dont, and cheap out for the shorter stick. Im used to driving truck stick, so I dont think i need the full sport feel. I will let you all know how i feel about the shorter stick, and If i don't like it, I will grab a short throw, But if 30$ makes me happy why spend 250$.

Let me know which one you end up getting, thats probably the route I'm going to take as well.

MGW shifter for the win.

I've (still) got an old Lou's Short Stick that I used, and it is short, but the MGW feels great.
