Default Shock blown out?

Hey guys recently my car is been making a horrid clanking noise coming from the rear. When I rocked the car I could hear it clearly. I suspect it is a blown shock because when I unbolted the drivers rear shock from the rear end the noise stopped. I don't think the shocks were made for a lowered car. Any suggestions on shocks for my car being lowered about 1.5"? Also, should I buy LCA relocation brackets because of my car being lowered?

Thanks

They aren't decarbons. I forget who made them but they came with the lowering springs I bought.

Does your car bounce a few times if you push it down? That's a sign of bad shocks. Also is there lots of oil around it? The clunck could just be a bushing that has worn out.

They aren't that old, I've had them on the car less than a year. I think they are gas shocks because I didn't see any oil around the tube.

Since you are lowered, you should be using an adjustable shock, preferably Koni SAs on all fours.

I can't really afford to drop $800 on shocks. I'm looking at bilsteins and KYB AGX atm. From what I've read the bilsteins are better than kyb. I'm also looking at buying lca relocation brackets.

when you lower a Camaro there are 2 must haves or must do's. The first is the LCA relocators to keep your pinion angle correct. The second is an adjustable panhard bar. This is needed to keep the axle in the proper alignment with the front wheels.

As for the shocks, Sure the $800 per pop shocks would be nice but not everyone of us has that kind of money. Bilstens will help and they are not too expensive, if that is also too much money there are Monroe SensaTrak are pretty good, variable dampening shock that will adjust to road conditions. Or you could go with the OEM type gas charged cheapys that will handle good for a few months then be just as sloppy as the OEMs. Your call.

I have a lakewood single adj panhard, just no relocation brackets. I may go with bilsteins, any opinion on the kyb agx?
