Service Engine Soon??
The camaro I just bought didn't come with a manual and on my way home tonight, the 'Service Engine Soon' light came on. Is this the same as a Check Engine Light where I have to get the code read? Or do I just need an oil change? My old acura, has a Service Engine and Check Engine light so I didn't know if the camaro was set up the same way.
fyi- the oil is pretty dark so i'm sure its due to be changed.

You did not mention the model year, but in any case you have to pull the trouble code/s. Up to 93 the codes can be flashed, pulle with a code reader, or read with a scanner. On 94 and 95 a OBDI scanner is needed, 95s may need an OBDI scanner with an OBDII scanner cable. On 96 and newer only an OBDII scanner, or a PC with scannning software will work. Codes cannot be flashed on 94 and newer cars, and a plain code reader won't work.
Thanks! I had Autozone scan it and turns out its an O2 sensor. I wanted to replace it myself but they couldn't tell me which sesnor it was. Paperwork says 'heated oxygen sensor bank2 sensor 1'. I only want to replace the bad one since its $67 each. Any way to tell which sensor it is without paying a shop $100 diagnostics fee??

print out the page from rock auto and bring it to adv auto, they will price match or come darn close. If they can't, then buy from rock
