Default Sensor wiring

My IAT tempedrature was at -40, so I found out the signal wire was bad. I made a jumper to the wiring harness connector and it works fine now. I have a bit of a misfire still and wondering if any other wires could be damaged.

Does the AIT sensor wiring connect to anything else, or does it just go straight to the wiring harness connector?

How do I check the other wires, or do I just have to test each sensor to make sure its getting signal and ground?

Lastly, there is no way of pulling that wire out of the harness or getting any others back in. Do I just ziptie the new wire to the harness?

I have an OBD2 tool if that helps.

Thanks all!

The sensor wires go to the ECM, signal wire ges direcly to the ECM, the isolated ground wire also goes to the ECM but may be bridged to other sensors. Use the scan tool to look at the other sensors and verify what the ECM sees makes sense. If you want to check the wiring, you will need a wirng diagram for your particular model & year car.

This is directed at the misfire issue, how long since you change plugs and wires?

I changed the plugs from copper to platinum 2 months ago and noticed a lower idle with the platinum.

I bought new plug wires to see if that would help, it ran smoother but still had the hesitation and shake so I returned them and purchased a new set on ebay since they were a bit cheaper. It idles fine it seems, but in the 2-3k rpm it shakes the wheel pretty good.

What are the reading supposed to be for the MAF, TPS, etc?? I know how to check the 02, LTFT and STFT and such.

have you checked the 02 sensors to see if they are fouled. fouled 02 can give false readings that appear good. i would assume the bad temp sensor would flood the system with fuel if it seen -40 temp, that would foul the plugs and 02s.

How would I check if they are fouled? They are not throwing any codes, the voltage looks correct but when I do a Mode $06 scan it shows up as Bank 2 sensor 1 failing.

When I go to Rockauto to order new ones, It's telling me I can use the same one for the pre or post cat, just matters if its left or right. I thought the front ones were heated and the back were not? How can I tell?

Thanks again Craby!

heated sensors have three or four wires. take em out and see if there all black. same as a spark plug when it fouls from rich condition. sometimes you can get away with cleaning them with heat. i have used acetaline torch before with good results. gota heat them fast so you dont damage the wires. only lasted for a extra year then i put heated ones in. 93 does not have heated 02s, and yes they foul to, just takes longer. this motor and tune still run rich when cold so i think thats when its happening for me.

Cool, I will try getting them off and try cleaning them with a propane torch.
No chemicals like carb cleaner?
I will order new ones off Rock Auto soon too.

I went on Rockauto.com and ordered the Bosch 02 sensors that work for the front or rear not mattering on the bank. Hope they work, but I can always return them if not.
