Try your spare key, and try cleaning out the ignition switch. Use contact cleaner.

Can a resistor go bad? I had installed the resistor under the dash. The car started fine drove it down the street and tried to start it up and nothing. When I had to bypass the ignition switch a week ago the dash warning lights would flash once and the security light would keep flashing. But once I got the right resistor in the light stop flashing. Now the dash warning light dont flash the security light just stays on without flashing.

The car wont start and the dash doesnt flash the waring lights anymore and the security light doesnt flash just stays on. The car was running for a week fine after I found the correct resistor. The check gauge light did come on a day before this happened.
