Thanks! I have always thought the same thing with the black accents on silver or pewter cars. I was going with the same kind of look on my Avalance. I miss that truck but I dont miss the $400 per month payments.

Today I replaced my Coolant overflow bottle/battery tray. The battery mount was broken when my car was wrecked so I finally got tired of my battery shifting around and I bought the bottle. Replacement is simple, you remove the battery, remove one bolt and a hose and lift it out. There may be a wire attached to the filler tube.

After I removed it I went and cleaned up the corrosion from a leaking battery and painted the area to prevent further problems.

Sorry I didnt get any pics of the nasy stuff that was there before I cleaned up everything.

OK I attacked the brakes today. Weather held out OK but it was rain on and off all the time. I had to wait a while for the paint to dry on the calipers but I had my kids to play with while the paint dried. Here are some before and after shots.

I left the old rotor on the car while I painted the rears to protect the parking brake from getting painted.

After a test drive the brakes work so much better than before. Yea it's the paint, its gotta be... after all ricers gain 1000 HP from a Type R sticker. OK in reality it is the ceramic compound that dissapates heat better which means better stopping ability. The other good thing about ceramic pads... No ugly red dust on my rims.

The rotors are my store brand Brake Best... Which are made by Raybestos for my company. My fluid is in bad need of a flush too so I am going to drop $50 to my local shop and have them pressure bleed and flush my system. My hoses are all in good shape so I didnt need to replace them.

Wow, some odd luck with your car -- just goes to show you cannot trust lube monkeys! Are those headlight housings with projectors for HIDS?

 

The headlights are HID compatable but I am not using them. I am using the Silverstar Ultra bulbs in the hi and low beams.
